EC Build is a green retrofit service and social enterprise that delivers high-quality building upgrades while creating paid training and employment opportunities for people who are under-represented in the trades or face barriers to work.

We primarily work on existing homes, non-profit housing, and small commercial or institutional buildings that are looking to improve comfort, energy efficiency, and durability.

Yes. Our work is guided by proven building-science principles to ensure upgrades are safe, effective, and durable.

Projects are completed by EC Build staff, including trained tradespeople and trainees supported through our social enterprise model.

No. Our projects are carefully planned and supervised. Training is built into our workflow, and quality and safety are never compromised.

Air sealing reduces uncontrolled air movement, while insulation slows heat transfer. When combined, they significantly improve comfort and energy performance—doing one without the other often limits results.
